Description of Project:

The Corporation of the City of Sarnia is seeking the services of a multidisciplinary team to undertake a study of the new route and traffic patterns to guide future network improvement priorities. The Successful Proponent will:

  • Review documents and information provided by the city.
  • Collect existing traffic counts (8 hours peak Turning Movements Counts) of each study intersection while school is still in session.
  • Review existing signal timing plans provided by the city.
  • Review current impact of road extension on traffic by assessing existing Level of Service, delay and capacity at study intersections.
  • Conduct the traffic network and capacity analysis for current and future growth within the area. 
  • Assess the existing traffic control at each study intersection and recommend changes if warranted based on current and projected traffic patterns.
  • Identify triggers for future intersection improvements.
  • Identify potential lane configuration and signal timing improvements to address existing traffic demands.
  • Evaluate multimodal performance, including pedestrian, cycling, and transit considerations.
  • Make recommendations on appropriate traffic control, signal timing and lane configurations for each intersection based on future road network and traffic forecasts.

Proponent Conditions:

All Proponents submitting to the noted project are required to have all the required documents as per the specifications including but not limited to:

·  Certificate of Liability Insurance

·  WSIB Clearance Certificate or equivalent
 

This Procurement activity may be subject to the terms of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and other trade agreements.
